Night Photography Shoot Out Workshop in Sarnia, ON – April 14, 2012 – 7p.m-11 p.m

We are very excited to announce our first Night Photography Shoot Out! This workshop will cover all things (you guessed it) related to photography at night. Pack your DSLR, tripod, and walking shoes. We’ll meet directly under the twin bridges in Sarnia, Ontario at 7:00 p.m. where we’ll cover different techniques for photographing at night.

According to my iPhone app the sun will set at 8:11p.m and we’ll be shooting in complete darkness by 8:40p.m

Students will have until 10:00 p.m to photograph in and around the bridge and then we will collect the images, and collectively critique them, covering what to improve on, look for, and consider when photographing at night. The critique will take place at a local café/pub (to be announced)

We will also select a first, second, and third place winner, and will hand out some very cool prizes (stay tuned for the details of the prizes to come!)

The shoot out style workshop cost is: $125+hst per photographer

Intro to Photography Course Announced – Saturday, April 7, 2012

Our intro to photography course is designed for people with SLR (Single Lens Reflex) cameras interested in learning to take their camera off the “auto” mode, and enter the “real” world of photography. You’ll learn the basics of apertures, shutters, white balances, and composition to improve your photography, and get you comfortable with the camera.

The cost is 199 dollars +HST for the day, and the course will run from 10 a.m-4p.m Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the studio in Wallaceburg.

COURSE FULL – Boudoir Workshop and Lighting Course – April 22nd, 2012 -Retro Suites

I’m excited to announce our first boudoir workshop and lighting course in association the Retro Suites in Chatham, Ontario Sunday, April 22, 2012.
We’ll spend 4 hours with 8 students covering everything from shot techniques and off camera lighting to picking the right angle and lens for your subject, and making them feel comfortable in front of the camera.
A professional make-up artist will be on site, and each student will be given ample time to work with both models in various settings throughout the suite.
The course will run from 12-4 in the amazing Presidential Suite at the hotel. Check out some of the other suites in this incredible hotel if you haven’t seen them HERE
The workshop cost is 250 per student+hst

COURSE FULL-Advanced Off Camera Lighting Workshop – 11 a.m-4p.m March 25, 2012

We’re excited to be offering another advanced lighting workshop at the studio March 25th, 2012.

This class is limited to 5 participants, and together we’ll be working with a model both in studio, and on location
concentrating on using one light, off camera, and making the most dynamic images possible using a variety of techniques, and tools.

Students MUST understand their cameras in manual mode to attend this class, and own/have access to a flash with full manual capabilities
and radio slaves/a remote trigger.

The total cost for the class is: 250+hst per student
